Engineered Security Solutions (ESS) is proud to announce a major milestone in its journey: Aaron Wingate has officially assumed ownership of the company. With a remarkable 20-year history at ESS—beginning as a Field Technician and evolving through roles in Sales and Leadership—Wingate brings deep knowledge, hands-on experience, and a clear vision for the future.
Founded by Brian Bautz in 2002, ESS has been the trusted leader in commercial security systems for over 20 years. ESS specializes in solutions for schools, banks, property management companies, manufacturing, municipalities, small businesses and more with customer support that is second to none.
With this long-planned transition, ESS extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has played a role in building the 23-year-old company into one of Wisconsin’s most trusted names in electronic security. Founded on integrity, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to service, the company remains dedicated to honoring that legacy, with customer care remaining the top priority.
“We wanted to be certain that this transition would be seamless for our clients and staff,” said Wingate. “While the future will bring exciting developments and continued innovation, ESS’s core values remain unchanged. Clients and partners can expect the same high standards, the same relentless commitment, and the same culture of respect and excellence that have always defined the organization.”
“We’ve trusted Engineered Security Solutions with our security needs for many years, and it’s been a great partnership. Knowing that Aaron Wingate—someone who’s been hands-on and truly understands our business—is now taking the lead gives us full confidence in a smooth transition,” said Lyneen Fischer, Vice President of Security for North Shore Bank. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with Engineered Security Solutions and are confident the same level of care, responsiveness, and quality will continue under Aaron’s leadership as he leads the company forward.”
“I appreciate the thoughtfulness and planning that has gone into this changeover,” said Amy Mayer, ESS Chief Operating Officer. “Brian and Aaron have been working together to ensure our group has minimal disruption as well as input for improvement. This transition is more than a change in leadership—it is a renewed pledge to strengthen operations, invest in team growth, and expand capabilities, all while preserving the unique culture that sets ESS apart.”
ESS is deeply thankful for the trust and support of its community and eagerly looks forward to this new chapter, with purpose, momentum, and excitement.
